Chip & Seal
Tar & chip road paving (which is also referred to as chip seal, bituminous asphalt, tar and chip) is similar to asphalt, as it is a combination of hot liquid asphalt cement, liquid A/C (or hot tar if you prefer) as a binder and gravel as the main structural component. Unlike hot mix asphalt (plant mix) which is premixed at an asphalt plant, the components are delivered separately and mixed on the job site. Tar & chip paving is nothing new, it has been used for over 100 years, all over the world, with great success, to pave and resurface roads, Tar & chip driveway, Tar & chip road paving, parking lots, House driveway paving, residential driveways, etc. and is used by county, State and Department of Transportation road crews on public road paving projects, in every state in America.
